Young People Activities

Learning Partnership West

Services offered by Learning Partnership West at Lawrence Weston Youth Centre, Long Cross, BS11 0RX:

-‘Drop-in’ sessions every Monday 12-3pm (including school holidays) for young people aged 16-19 years old (up to 25, for those with learning difficulty or disability). 1:1 support and advice for people looking to find employment, training or educational placements and signposting to other agencies where necessary. Young People can either contact us and book a time or just walk in.
-LPW also visit Young People in and around Lawrence Weston and neighbouring areas.
-‘Open Access’ session at Lawrence Weston Youth Centre every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm available for young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 with LDD). The sessions consist of multiple activities and plans for project work. There’s always something good going on! New people are always welcome!

The Job Club provides a service to assist jobseekers to enter / re-enter employment through the provision of individualised support ‘drop in’ service and informal workshops. Work Zone will also provide ‘in-work’ support.

Beavers aged 6-8 years, Cubs 8-10 years, Scouts 10-14 years & Explorers 14-18 years. Scouts is for everyone, boys and girls so come along and see where Scouting could take you!

Regular activities at The Farm:

–Farm Hands 8
All year
Places available for local (Lawrence Weston, Shirehampton, Sea Mills and Avonmouth) 8 – 11 year old. Farm Hands help look after the animals and the gardens and contribute to the community farm in many ways. Please contact kerry@lwfarm.org.uk for an application form. Places are free.
–Lunch Club
Tuesdays 12.00 – 1.30pm. Food served at 12.30pm
Two courses and drinks £2.50. Come and enjoy some healthy home cooked food, have a look around the farm and make some friends. Please ring 0117 9381128 to book a meal.
–Farm Tots
Wednesdays 10.30 – 12.00pm

Juicy Blitz Youth Involvement Project

The Juice and Smoothie Bar, 70 Ridingleaze, Lawrence Weston, BS11 0QB

The Juice & Smoothie Bar provides a hub where young people aged 11-21 years (up to 25 years for those with learning disabilities) can come in, socialise, and get involved in projects & activities that are developed together with young people.

Tuesday’s Drop-in 4-5.30pm. Young People’s café, creative activities, access to computers & internet.

Wednesday’s 121 Support Sessions. 4-6pm. Pre book a session with a youth support worker for help with CV’s, college applications or for a chat about any other issues or difficulties that you would like some help with.

Thursday’s Drop-in 4-5.30pm – ‘Fresh Thursday’s’ smoothie making workshops &/or healthy eating & cooking activities.
